Botscout.plugin is plugin that integrates with the BotScout API to screen registering users and prevent known bots from creating accounts on your forum. This plugin ships with FUDforum 2.8.1 and later releases.
BotScout.com trap bots by using a large number of "bot honeypot" forms located on a number of their sites. They then publish the information so people can use it to screen registration attempts. This module taps into the BotScout database to prevent bots from registering on your forum.
This plugin can be enabled as-is on low traffic sites.
Sites that receive more than about ~20 registrations per day must apply for a free API key at http://www.botscout.com/.
This plugin uses FUDforum's PREREGISTRATION hook.
